In 1980 the U.S. Olympic hockey team captured the gold medal from one of the most exciting sports events of the century.  These are the tickets to all seven games of that series.

Attendees  came from at least an eight state area and Canada to the Upper Midwest PPFA Trade Show.  The proximity of this event made it possible for more businesses to get to a trade show while keeping travel expenses down.  Having over 35 exhibitors and nearly 200 people from the industry in attendance made the show a fabulous success.

This year several PPFA chapters, including  the North Central PPFA chapter and the Heartland chapter which represents Iowa and Illinois, have joined to make the largest PPFA trade show in the Midwest area. The show was held on Monday October 17th at the Northland Inn – An Executive Conference Center in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota on highway 694 at Boone Avenue. In addition to the picture framing industry, we invited associated members of the PPA (Professional Photographers of America), the PMAI (Photo Marketing Association International) and ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) to join us.

Featured education sessions for the various industries included Advanced Frame Design by Greg Perkins of Larson-Juhl,  Low Heat Mounting Techniques by Len Lastuck of Tack 1, Designing with Art and Framing by Greg Perkins, and Refresh Your Business Attitude by Michael Kadlec of Woodland Art Framing Studios.

Everyone that attended benefited from networking, seeing their manufacturer’s reps and even winning one of the many prizes from suppliers.  PPFA members received even more with the discounted rates, a catered dinner after the show and more prizes.
